CANDLE CARE
How to burn and care for your new candle cup
-
Choose the perfect spot: Select a stable and heat-resistant surface away from flammable objects.
-
Trim the wick: Before lighting the candle, trim the wood wick to approximately 1/8 inch (3 mm) using scissors or a wick trimmer. This promotes a clean and even burn.
-
Light the wick: Use a long-handled lighter or a match to carefully light the wood wick at one end, once lit gently tilt the candle so that flame spreads up the wick.
-
For the first burn, allow the candle to burn until the wax pool reaches the edges, ensuring a consistent and even burn. This may take one to two hours, depending on the candle size.
-
Patience is key: Avoid extinguishing the candle too soon. The first burn sets the stage for future burns, so let it create an even wax pool across the entire surface.
-
Safety first: Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep it away from drafts, children, and pets. Always extinguish the flame before leaving the room.
-
Extinguish with care: Use a candle snuffer or gently blow out the flame. Avoid blowing directly into the candle to minimise smoke.
-
Preserve the experience: After each burn, trim the wick to maintain it at approximately 1/8 inch (3 mm) length. This ensures a clean and optimal burn for your next candle-lighting adventure. Wood wicks need to be trimmed a little closer than regular candles (or carefully remove the charred bits of the wick with your fingers if you don't have a wick trimmer)
How to re-use & transform your candle into a cup
Discover the secret to giving your candle a fresh start so you can transform your candle into a beautiful ceramic cup for daily rituals!

Step 1: Cool it down - Once burned, allow your candle to fully cool. Safety is important, so make sure the wax has solidified and is no longer hot or liquid.

Step 2: Freeze the magic - Place your candle in the freezer for a couple of hours. The chilly temperatures will work their magic, causing the wax to contract and become easier to remove.

Step 3: Wax liberation - Take the vessel out of the freezer and gently tap it on a solid surface - but be careful not to crack you cup here. You'll notice the wax starting to loosen and separate from the sides. With a little nudge, the wax should pop out easily.

Step 4: Gentle persuasion - If there's any remaining wax residue, fill the vessel with hot water and let it sit for a few minutes to soften the wax. Then, use a non-abrasive tool like a butter knife or the edge of a credit card to gently scrape off the softened wax. Be mindful of avoiding scratches!

Step 5: Bye-bye residue - Use a soft cloth or sponge into a mixture of hot water and mild dish soap. Gently scrub the vessel inside and out.

Step 6: Rinse and dry - rinse it thoroughly with warm water to remove any soapy residue. Dry it with a soft cloth or allow it to air dry.

Congratulations! Your candle is now wax-free and ready for its next adventure!
